Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) We recommend flying into DCA. It’s the closest to the venue and hotels, and is accessible by Metro or a quick Uber or Taxi (~ 20 minutes/$20). If you choose to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN4Bk4r7FEU" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metro</a>, take the Yellow line to L’Enfant Plaza, then change trains and take the Green line to Navy Yard-Ballpark.Dulles International Airport (IAD) If you choose to fly into Dulles, you can <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN4Bk4r7FEU" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">take the Metro</a> Silver line in about an hour (straight to Capitol South and walk ten minutes OR to L’Enfant Plaza, then transfer and take the Green line to Navy Yard-Ballpark) or an Uber/Taxi (~45 - 60 minutes).Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) Getting to DC from Baltimore on the <a href="https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/marc-penn?schedule_date=12%2F02%2F2025&amp;direction=0&amp;origin=11984&amp;destination=11958" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MARC train</a> takes about 30 minutes and <a href="https://www.mta.maryland.gov/marc-fares" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">costs $8</a>. There is a short shuttle to the train station, then take the PENN line to Union Station. From there, you can <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN4Bk4r7FEU" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metro </a>(Red Line to Gallery Place-Chinatown, then Green Line to Navy Yard-Ballpark) or Uber/Taxi to your accommodations (~$12/10 minutes).

By Train

If you’re coming from the Northeast, we love taking <a href="https://www.amtrak.com/home.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Amtrak</a>. You can take it from NYC (3.5 hours), various spots in New Jersey (~3 hours), and Philadelphia (2 hours) straight into Union Station. From there, you can <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN4Bk4r7FEU" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metro</a> (Red Line to Gallery Place-Chinatown, then Green Line to Navy Yard-Ballpark) or Uber/Taxi to your accommodations (~$12/10 minutes). Book early - the prices only go up!

By Automobile

We highly recommend flying or taking Amtrak over driving. Parking in DC is limited, expensive and complicated; the roads are confusing; and our drivers have their own set of rules. The hotels in our block have limited parking for a fee ($55 to $75 per night) and street parking in the neighborhood is highly restricted. Select AirBnbs in nearby neighborhoods do have off-street parking. If you want to drive down but don’t want to worry about parking in the city, overnight spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the <a href="https://www.wmata.com/service/parking/parking-details.cfm?stationid=80" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Greenbelt Metro Station</a> in Maryland. It is free on weekends and holidays, and $9 on weekdays. Enter the parking lot through the Cherrywood Lane entrance and follow signs to parking spaces designated “Multi-Day Parking.” From there, take the Metro Green Line straight to Navy Yard-Ballpark.

There are very few vacation rentals in Navy Yard. If you’d prefer an AirBnb or VRBO, we recommend staying in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The areas around the Capitol Building, Garfield Park, Eastern Market and Lincoln Park are all great. Some AirBnbs in those areas even have off-street parking spots!

National Mall &amp; MonumentsJoin us on Saturday, May 23 at 1:30 PM for a walking tour of the iconic monuments on the National Mall. See the Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial, or take a walk around the Tidal Basin to see the Jefferson, FDR and MLK Jr. Memorials. Library of CongressA gorgeous building and one of the most underrated spots to visit. Entrance is free but does need a <a href="https://www.loc.gov/visit/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">timed ticket</a>. Smithsonian MuseumsThere are 17 Smithsonian museums in the D.C. area, including 11 on the National Mall! They are all free to enter, but some require <a href="https://www.si.edu/visit/museums" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">timed-entry tickets</a>. If you have the time and are flying into Dulles, go to the Udvar-Hazy Air &amp; Space Museum near Dulles Airport. Planet Word An interactive <a href="https://planetwordmuseum.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">word and linguistics museum</a> in downtown DC. Advance tickets are recommended, and can be booked for free or a “choose your price” method. Eastern Market Stop by on Saturday or Sunday morning for DC’s oldest market. Grab some fresh produce or a bite to eat at Market Lunch or one of the food stalls (like burritos at El Piquin). Get some shopping in at the flea market or pop into local stores like Capitol Hill Books (used bookstore), East City Books, Labyrinth (board games), or Hill’s Kitchen. KayakingIf the weather permits, we like <a href="https://boatingindc.com/ballpark-boathouse/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">kayaking</a> right in Navy Yard on the Anacostia River. We do not recommend kayaking in the Potomac at this time. Spy MuseumThe <a href="https://www.spymuseum.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">International Spy Museum</a> is one of DC’s paid museums, but it’s fun and interactive for all ages. For KidsThe Smithsonian museums are a great option for kids of all ages, but are also multiple parks, playgrounds, pools and splash parks in the area near the hotel blocks. The Randall and Arthur Capp Recreation Centers both have playgrounds and pools. Garfield Park has two playgrounds and Canal Park has a dancing fountain kids love to play in. The Southwest Library has an indoor play and reading area for littles.

Chercher, Ethiopic and Dukem are all great options.Union Market This food hall has lots of stalls, so there’s something for everyone. The area around it has more great restaurants and bars, including Cotton &amp; Reed rum distillery, Bread Alley, A. Litteri, and Hi-Lawn on the roof of the market.
