What should I wear?

Formal attire for a nice, urban winery. Think long or midi dresses for women, suits and ties for men. DC in May can be beautiful, but it can also be warm, so keep that in mind as you're choosing colors or fabrics. For those concerned, bridesmaids are in shades of peach/soft coral, but don’t let that deter you if you have a dress you love! If you're still wondering, we have a Pinterest board to give you some ideas: https://pin.it/3RoOETafS

What’s the best way to get to DC?

We highly recommend flying or Amtrak. Parking in DC is limited, confusing and expensive. Please check the “Getting to DC” page for more information and details.

Where should I stay if I’m coming from out of town?

We have blocked off hotel rooms at the AC Marriott Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard and the Homewood Suites Washington Navy Yard. Please check the “Lodging” tab for more details on hotels or AirBnbs. Must be booked by April 23 for group pricing.

Is the neighborhood where the hotel blocks and wedding are safe?

Absolutely! Kelly lived in the Navy Yard neighborhood for 8 years. It's close to the Nats ballpark, and full of restaurants, bars, shops, parks and more. You may see some National Guard walking around, but they are not there because of legitimate safety issues in the neighborhood.

Can I bring my own food? What if I have a dietary restriction?

No. The venue has a strict no outside food or drink policy. If you have an allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know when you RSVP and our caterer is more than able to accommodate.

What time does the wedding start?

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 PM, so we are asking that you arrive at 4:30. Cocktail hour and reception immediately to follow.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest arriving at 4:30 so you can have a welcome glass of wine before the ceremony.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Yes! The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are all in the same location.

Are the ceremony and reception spaces accessible?

Yes. The venue has both stairs and an elevator, as well as accessible bathrooms on every floor.

Are you providing transportation to the wedding?

No. Our hotel blocks are all easy walking distance to the venue. If you are staying in another neighborhood that’s too far to walk, we recommend taking Metro or Uber/Lyft to District Winery.

Is there parking at the venue?

The venue does not have a dedicated parking lot. There is a small parking lot next to the venue, but availability is not guaranteed. There is limited street parking around the venue. We recommend walking, Metro or Uber to get to the ceremony.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We are asking that you silence and put away your phones for the ceremony so we can all be present in the moment together. Don’t worry - we have a great photographer!
